Forgot - pictures

Ooh, ooh, I forgot something.

I said I was going to post some new pictures, well I'm not.

True, I went out yesterday and took a bunch, but there was nothing spectacular in the bunch. I tried some HDR but nothing jumped out at me. Might try again later in the evening and see if I can get some good bridge shots. They would make some nice HDR images I think.

More news to come. Can't wait can you?

Mock interview

Had a mock interview at my class yesterday. One that was videotaped.

Today, me and the rest of the class watched them all. It was like having all my teeth pulled at once. The sound of chalk scraping on a blackboard was preferable to hearing myself on tape. I actually read throughout the whole thing I was so uncomfortable.

Anyway, I got only positive feedback, everyone including the instructor said I did a really good job, so I guess it was worth it?

2 more days of class left then I'm back to the real world of trying to find a job. Lovely. I *hate* looking for work.

I'm going to try and get an Apple Certification in September. Found a place in town that lets people take the test without having to take the training with them The test only costs $200 so it's worth a shot. Just have to finish working through the course material. No biggie there.

It's been a busy few days

So on Friday I got a call from a company that received my resume in response to a position they were trying to fill. I finally got to call the guy back on Monday morning. He called me back Monday afternoon for a 'chat' that turned into a full-blown phone interview. Love it when they sneak up on me like that!

I always enjoy interviews 'cause I don't talk about myself a lot (I always thought it was rude) and I get a chance to shine and tell people how great I am.

So we had a really, really good interview. The guy kept saying "wow, you do that" and "that's impressive, we could really use that here", so I think he was impressed.

I'm supposed to hear by Monday if they want me for a face-to-face interview, fingers crossed? Thanks.

Then today I had a mock interview at the course I'm taking. That was fun too.

So I've got the rest of the day off, so I'm going to go and give my camera a work out and take some pictures of the beaches and ocean stuff in general. Watch this space for an announcement of new pictures posted. People seem to like them.

Blogging tool

Remember how I asked if anyone used a tool to create and publish blog posts that was free and ran on a Mac? Well, maybe I asked on Twitter and not here.

Anyway, I downloaded and tried out Qumana. Don't bother. Whenever I created a post and tried to publish, it gave me an error although it posted fine. And the posts all came out double-spaced even though I had not set them that way.

Ho-hum, back to the drawing board.

Anyone have any more suggestions?

A non-apologetic disclaimer

I don't believe in faith. I don't believe in God. I don't believe in a higher-power. I think the bible is a work of fiction passed along throughout history. Shakespeare will be as believable in as many years to come.

In my normal day-to-day existence I don't tell people this of course, and the reason I don't is that people that do believe all that stuff can't take it. They can't believe that someone is still alive and doesn't believe. Well I am and I don't.

What's worse is that I don't have any patience for those that do believe. You people don't make sense to me. You're not living in the same world as me. But I don't say that in my day-to-day life either, and for the same reason.

Religion is single-handedly responsible for more death on this planet than any other thing. Natural disasters, accidents, starvation, you name it. Most wars are due to religion. I don't get it.

Some perfectly sane, intelligent people are 'believers'. I don't get that either.

I said somewhere that you might not like everything that I write here, this is an example of that.

Anyway, comments are enabled. If you decide to leave a comment in an attempt to change my mind, don't waste your time.

12 inch Powerbook

I've always coveted a 12" Powerbook. Obviously they've not been made in years.

I have absolutely no need for one. None at all. I have a couple of laptops already.

But a friend of mine has announced she's selling hers and I'm tempted. My wife? Not tempted at all and she's right in that I don't *need* it. But I have a want. And we all know what happens when Earl gets a want right? Yep, you're right. Nothing usually happens.

I'm thinking of getting some kind of text editing tool that I can use to write posts off-line and just click a button to upload them. Anyone got any experience with them? I'm not too jazzed about this Blogger interface.

Hello hello

This is my first post!

I've been blogging for years but decided I needed a new persona. One that wasn't already known.

That way I can write stuff that would offend people but because they don't know who I am, they can't get pissed at me. They can still get pissed, but not at me if I'm careful.

Not that this blog is about my pissing people off, it's not. It just gives me some freedom that's all.

So, about me? Live on the Right Coast of North America and I'm a Mac freak. A lot of stuff here will be Apple related. So move on if you're offended by that at all.

I'm a member of the local Macintosh User group so some of that will be here too.

Anyway, that's it for post one. Stand by for post two.
